1.THE 2008 TORONTO OLYMPIC BID.
Commissioner of Economic Development, Culture and Tourism

Inviting consultation on the public's ideas and suggestions about what to include in the
"Olympic Principles" which will guide Toronto's Olympic Bid as well as providing
comments on the key issues such as transportation, financial impact, environment, culture,
venues and social equity and recommending that:
(1)the presentation by Mr. David Crombie regarding Toronto's bid for the 2008 Olympics
be received; and
(2)any Community Council recommendations on this issue be referred to staff for a
consolidated report, with the recommendations from the other Community Councils, to the
Strategic Policies and Priorities Committee on November 17, 1998, and to City Council on
November 25, 1998.
