RE: UD52-97-01 Zoning application for paid parking at 4155 Yonge Street
Dear Ms. Liddiard
The Toronto Parking Authority at its meeting March 31, 1998 directed staff to re-open the above referenced temporary
zoning application. The application, if approved, will allow for the extension of the temporary zoning designation to the
end of 1999. This will enable the Toronto Parking Authority to continue operating the surface parking facility on behalf of
the owner. Would you please have this item placed on the agenda for the May 27 Community Council meeting?
This application was before City of North York Council on October 6, 1997 and no action was taken at that time. In light
of the fact that the Parking Authority negotiated a conditional agreement with the owner of the property, we feel it
appropriate that this matter be reviewed and consideration be given to a two year extension of the temporary zoning for a
paid parking facility.
I am enclosing the background material relating to this matter and if you have any questions or concerns relating to this
matter please give me a call at 395-0187.
Yours truly,
Nick Spensieri

Subject:Re-Zoning Application for William Carson Lot (UD52-97-01)
Date:March 26, 1998
Recommendation: That the Parking Authority authorize staff to do all things necessary to ensure that the above noted
temporary zoning by-law is enacted.
As you are aware the former Parking Authority of North York requested that staff negotiate a renewal operating agreement
with the owner of the property. Once an agreement had been reached, the Parking Authority would act on behalf of the
owner to apply for the extension of the temporary zoning to permit a public parking lot at this location.
This application was before City of North York Council on October 6, 1997 and no action was taken at that time to extend
the existing temporary zoning as staff had not reached an agreement with Mr. Pantalone. Subsequently, an agreement was
reached subject to the Authority acquiring the necessary planning approvals.
The Interim Community Council co-ordinator has indicated that to reopen this matter at the North York Community
Council the Toronto Parking Authority would have to indicate its intent to continue operating at this location and that an
extract from the next Parking Authority meeting would suffice.
I have attached the background information for your perusal and for submission to the Parking Authority Board for their
information and action.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to this matter please contact me at your earliest convenience.
