Community Council at its meeting held on July 22, 1998.
30(r)Applications - Officials Plans and Re-zoning Matters.
The North York Community Council reports having deferred the following Resolution to its next meeting scheduled
for September 16, 1998:
(July 22, 1998) from Councillor Flint, North York Centre South, recommending that the Planning Department inform local
Councillors about all Official Plan and re-zoning applications immediately upon their receipt by means of a consent FYI
item on the Community Council agenda; and that this consist of a photocopy of the application form, area map and
accompanying letter from the applicant.
WHEREAS applications for Official Plan and rezoning are often received weeks before a preliminary evaluation report is
made to Council; and
WHEREAS valuable community input can often be obtained early in the process; and
WHEREAS it is embarrassing to not know about an Official Plan or rezoning application until the appearance of a
preliminary report; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Planning Department inform local Councillors about all Official Plan and
rezoning applications immediately upon their receipt by means of a consent for your information item on the Community
Council agenda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this consist of a photocopy of the application form, area map and accompanying
letter from the applicant, if applicable.
