To:Striking Committee,
City of Toronto
Please be advised that I am interested in serving on the Council Reference Group to Develop
the City of Toronto's Strategic Plan. I previously co-authored the City of Scarborough's
Strategic Plan, and have a keen understanding of the multiple and conflicting demands on a
city's long term goals.
As you know, all aspects of a large city's life must be incorporated seamlessly and coherently
into a Strategic Plan if they are to complement and enhance the overall objective. That
objective, of course, is to nurture and encourage future development in our city which benefits
the economic, social, cultural, and environmental health of Toronto.
We intend to improve upon the best city in the world, and as someone with past experience in
this field, I would be honoured to participate in this endeavour.
Let us be the envy of the world, and the world's example of a "best practice" city.
Sincerely,
Brad Duguid
Councillor
Scarborough City Centre
