Subject: Premises No. 2129 St. Clair Avenue West (the Canadian Tire store) - Ingress/egress turn prohibitions from the
West Toronto Street driveway. (Ward 21 - Davenport)
Purpose:
To prohibit southbound right turns and eastbound left turns at the West Toronto Street driveway access to the Canadian
Tire parking lot (Premises No. 2129 St. Clair Avenue West).
Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
The property owner (The Toronto Stock Yard Land Development Board) is required to bear all expenses to implement the
turn restrictions, noted in Recommendation Nos. 1 and 2, below.
Recommendations:
1. That southbound right turns be prohibited at all times, from the driveway access at the rear of Premises No. 2129 St.
Clair Avenue West to West Toronto Street;
2. That eastbound left turns be prohibited at all times, from West Toronto Street to the driveway access at the rear of
Premises No. 2129 St. Clair Avenue West; and
3.That the appropriate City Officials be requested to take whatever action is necessary to give effect to the foregoing,
including the introduction in Council of any Bills that are required.
Comments:
Pursuant to the terms and conditions noted in the "Statement of Approval/Undertaking" of May 22, 1998, between the City
of Toronto and the Toronto Stock Yard Land Development Board respecting Premises No. 2129 St. Clair Avenue West (the
Canadian Tire store), the turn restrictions noted in
Recommendation Nos. 1 and 2 above, should be implemented to minimize the impact of transient traffic on the adjacent
residential community. I note that the owner of Premises No. 2129 St. Clair Avenue West is required to pay for the
installation of the above signage, estimated to be approximately $1,500.00 to $2,000.00.
