Subject: Approval of Plans of Subdivision and Condominium
Purpose:
To advise the Committee of recent subdivision and condominium approvals.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that this report be received for information.
Background:
Metropolitan Toronto Council delegated to the Metropolitan Commissioner of Planning approval authority for plans of subdivision and condominium. This delegation required the Commissioner to report any draft approvals to the Metropolitan Planning and Transportation Committee for its information. Until the new City Council amends or deletes existing delegation by-laws, recent draft approvals will be reported to the Urban Environment and Development Committee.
Discussion:
Due to the 1997 municipal elections the last report to the Planning and Transportation Committee was prepared on August 14, 1997 for the September 3, 1997 meeting of the committee. The attached tables list all subdivision and condominium approvals by ward for the remainder of 1997 and the first two months of 1998. A total of 11 plans of subdivision and 29 plans of condominium were draft approved over this 6 2 month period.
Conclusions:
Existing delegations continue until Council has the opportunity to examine and amend its current procedures. This report provides information to the Urban Environment and Development Committee consistent with established delegation requirements.
