		To:Councillor Joe Pantalone Members of the Urban Environment and Development Committee From:Irene Jones Date:July 23, 1998 Subject:Pedestrian Amenity Funding At our last meeting of the Urban Environment and Development Committee, I was disappointed that you did not allow me to ask some questions about how the annual income received from rental of the road right-of-way that is being used as a pedestrian tunnel might be used for the purpose of improving pedestrian amenities across the city. You did however, suggest that my proposal to establish a fund for pedestrian improvements be brought to the next meeting. Accordingly, I would request that a fund be established and if necessary, that the Committee request staff to bring forward a report on how pedestrian improvements are funded and whether or not a specific fund would be desirable.
