Poll Results: Proposal for Two-way Traffic on Holland Park Avenue, Between
Oakwood Avenue and Point 52 Metres East of Oakwood Avenue To Be
Reverted to One-way
Comments from Residents:
In Favour:
(a)Having it a two-way is most likely to cause more accidents.
(b)Holland Park Avenue is too narrow a street to be used for two-way traffic at any point. Also, at the bend near Robina
Avenue it is very dangerous to have two-way traffic, especially in the winter when accidents will occur.
(c)Two or three speed bumps along Holland Park Ave. to Winona Ave. to stop motorists from going too fast would be a
help.
(d)Holland Park residents asked for a stop sign at Holland Park and Cedric Ave. It was impossible. Now we think we need
one for two reasons -- more traffic and high speed traffic, plus bad people around Oakwood-Rogers going around at night
time. It is bad to go out at night. Thank you.
(e)Great idea! (f)Two-way traffic here is simply dangerous.
Why was it changed with (sic) public consultation, yet to return to previous one-way needs public consultation? It seems
as though public is contacted only when it is convenient or supportive of what politicians or >special interest groups with
influence= want done.
Not In Favour:
(a)I am not in favour of the proposal for two-way traffic because of too many collisions. The drivers don=t respect signals
between south Robina Ave. and Holland Park Ave. for quick exit to Oakwood Ave. Anyways, does not make sense, 52
metres for two-way traffic.
