 Purpose:

 To obtain Community Council approval for the following special events to be held in our parks where alcohol will be served/sold.

 Nil

 Recommendations:

 Approval be granted for the above events to be held in our parks and to be declared as

community festivals.

 Council Reference/Background History:

 The required clearances from Police, Fire, Health and Building are in the process of being obtained. All these events have been held in the past except for the Oakwood Bocce Club=s request.

 (June 5, 1998) from Councillor Frances Nunziata, Ward 27, York-Humber, requesting that this event be designated a ACommunity Festival@ by resolution of Council; advising that the Commissioner, Community Services, has provided approval; that two million dollars of liability insurance must be provided; and that the necessary clearances from the Health and Fire Departments must be obtained.

 (Copies of the correspondence referred to in the foregoing communication were forwarded to all Members of Council with the agenda of the York Community Council meeting of June 24, 1998, and copies thereof are on file in the Clerk's Department, York Civic Service Centre.)
