34.EXEMPTION OF OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENTS FROM

PROVINCIAL APPROVAL

(August 10, 1998)

Forwarding for information and any attention deemed necessary, Clause No. 9 of Report No. 9 of The Urban Environment and Development Committee, which was adopted, without amendment by the Council of the City of Toronto at its meeting held on July 29, 30, and 31, containing the following recommendations:

(1) recommends the adoption of the report (June 23, 1998) from the Commissioner of Urban Planning and Development Services; containing the following recommendations:

It is recommended that Council:

(1) endorse the exemption of official plan amendments from Provincial approval;

(2) authorize the City Clerk to initiate the appropriate changes in notification procedures to implement the exemption of official plan amendments from Provincial approval; and

(3)authorize other appropriate City officials to take any necessary action to give effect thereto.

(2)reports having received the report (July 10, 1998) from the Commissioner of Urban Planning and Development Services, and having directed that a copy thereof be forwarded to Council for information.

(A copy of the aforementioned Clause No. 9 of Report No. 9 of The Urban Environment and Development Committee was forwarded with the agenda of the York Community Council meeting of September 16, 1998 and a copy thereof is on file in the Clerk's Department, York Civic Centre.)
