35.GUIDELINES FOR DETERMINING CITY-WIDE INTERESTS IN
PLANNING MATTERS.

Forwarding for information and any information deemed necessary, Clause No. 2 contained in Report No. 9 of The Urban
Environment and Development Committee, which was adopted, as amended, by the Council of the City of Toronto at its
meeting held on July 29, 30, and 31, 1998, containing the following amended recommendations:
(1)City Council endorse the attached Protocol for dealing with planning matters of City-wide interest and authorize its use
by the Chief Planner in determining the appropriate Committee routing process for planning matters on a two-year trial
basis; and
(2)that with respect to matters abutting Community Council boundaries, a determination as to whether a City-wide or
local interest exists, be made only after consultation with all of the affected Councillors.
It is further recommended that the Commissioner of Urban Planning and Development Services be requested to report to
the Urban Environment and Development Committee:
(a)in one year and two years on the experience with using the protocol,

(b)on a protocol for dealing with site plan applications and/or undertakings as an equivalent.
