36.ISSUES REGARDING PRIVATE ROADS AND FREEHOLD DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF TORONTO.

Forwarding for information and any attention deemed necessary Clause No. 7 contained in Report No. 9 of The Urban Environment and Development Committee, which was adopted, without amendment, by the Council of the City of Toronto at its meeting held on July 29, 30, and 31, 1998, containing the following recommendations:

(1)development of freehold housing on private roads generally be discouraged; and

(2)the Province of Ontario be urged to enact the proposed amendments to the Condominium Act pertaining to Common Elements Condominiums and Phased Condominiums.

(A copy of the aforementioned Clause No. 6 of Report No. 9 of The Urban Environment and Development Committee was forwarded with the agenda of the York Community Council meeting of September 16, 1998 and a copy thereof is on file in the Clerk's Department, York Civic Centre.)
