Decorations Proposed by the Architects Respecting
the Renovations to the Councillor's Offices and
Council Chamber in Toronto City Hall
The Special Committee to Review the Final Report of the Toronto Transition Team recommends the adoption of the
recommendations of the Sub-Committee for the Relocation of all Members of Council to City Hall, embodied in the
following communication from the Interim Contact, Sub-Committee for the Relocation of all Members of Council to
City Hall:
Recommendations:
The Sub-Committee for the Relocation of All Members of Council to City Hall, on June29, 1998, recommends that the
following be approved in principle with respect to the renovations to the 2nd floor, Councillors' offices and Council
Chamber in Toronto City Hall:
(1)the lighting be brighter on the 2nd floor;
(2)the carpets and wood finishes as proposed by the project Architect be used; and
(3)frosted glass be used at the entrance to the Councillors' offices.
The Sub-Committee also recommends that:
(4)colours of the Administrative Assistants' offices be compatible with the colours of walls exterior to the office, and that
the Councillors' and Executive Assistants' offices choose the colour of their offices, on the advice of the Architect.
The Sub-Committee advises that it has received the verbal presentation of the Architect and recommends that staff proceed
with the carpet colours and wood finishes selected by the Architect.
Background:
The Sub-Committee for the Relocation of All Members of Council to City Hall on June 29, 1998, discussed the carpets,
wood finishes and wall paints proposed by the project Architect for the Phase 1 Renovation for the Toronto City Hall.
The Sub-Committee's recommendations are noted above.
