Bill No. 640

BY-LAW No. -1998

 

To authorize the removal of certain trees growing on the highways of the Municipality

 

WHEREAS the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M.45, Section 312, subsection 4(e) provides that the Council of every municipality may pass by-laws causing any tree planted upon a highway, within the municipality, to be removed when considered necessary in the public interest.

 

AND WHEREAS it is considered necessary in the public interest to cause the trees hereinafter designated, growing on the highways of the municipality, to be removed.

 

The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

 

1. The Commissioner of Economic Development, Culture & Tourism be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to cut down and remove, or cause to be cut down and removed, the trees standing in the following highways,

 

Alameda Ave (149) One (1) Spruce tree, standing on the East side of Alameda Ave, abutting Part Lots 24, 25, 26, Plan 1672 on which is situated house #149.

 

Reason for removal: Top half is dead.

 

 

Ava Road (134) One (1) Scotch Pine tree, standing on the North side of Ava Road, abutting Lot F, Plan 2599 on which is situated house #134.

 

Reason for removal: Tree is dead.

 

 

Baby Point Road (82) One (1) Red Oak tree, standing on the North side of Baby Point Road, abutting Lot 14, Plan 2313 on which is situated house #82.

 

Reason for removal: Removed for sewer work.

 

 

Boon Avenue (278) One (1) Manitoba Maple tree, standing on the West side of Boon Avenue, abutting Lot S Pt. 324, Plan 1381 on which is situated house #278.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in a state of decline; many holes in trunk.

 

 

Caledonia Road (629) One (1) Blue Spruce tree, standing on the East side of Caledonia Road, abutting Lot Pt. 11, Plan 1700 on which is situated house #629.

 

Reason for removal: Tree fell over in windstorm and was removed.

 

 

Cameron Avenue (131) One (1) Blue Spruce tree, standing on the South side of Cameron Avenue , abutting Lot E Pt. 73, Plan 1612 on which is situated house #131.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition; in a state of decline.

 

 

Ennerdale Road(153) One (1) Blue Spruce tree, standing on the East side of Ennerdale Road, abutting Lot 653, Plan 1442 on which is situated house #153.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in a state of decline.

 

 

Grandville Avenue (47) One (1) Blue Spruce tree, standing on the West side of Grandville Avenue, abutting Lot 3, Plan 2313 on which is situated house #47.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition; one side is dead.

 

 

Grandville Avenue (44) One (1) Norway Maple tree, standing on the East side of Grandville Avenue, abutting Lot S Pt. 101, Plan 1632 on which is situated house #44.

 

Reason for removal: More than 50% of tree is dead.

 

 

 

Joseph Street (28) One (1) Norway Maple tree, standing on the South side of Joseph Street, abutting Lot 78, Plan M338 on which is situated house #28.

 

Reason for removal: Tree damaged in storm.

 

King Street 81A One (1) Norway Maple tree, standing on the West side of King Street, abutting part Lot 280 & 283, Plan 182 on which is situated house #81A

 

Reason for removal: Tree has a large cavity in trunk; in poor condition; possible hazard.

 

 

Pinewood Avenue (76) One (1) Norway Maple tree, standing on the West side of Pinewood Avenue, abutting part Lot 50; Plan 922 on which is situated house #76.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in a state of decline; more than 50 % is dead.

 

 

ENACTED AND PASSED this day of , A.D. 1998.
