Bill No. 686

BY-LAW No. -1998

 

To authorize the removal of certain trees

growing on the highways of the Municipality.

 

WHEREAS the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M.45, Section 312, subsection 4(e) provides that the Council of every municipality may pass by-laws causing any tree planted upon a highway within the municipality to be removed when considered necessary in the public interest; and

 

WHEREAS it is considered necessary in the public interest to cause the trees hereinafter designated, growing on the highways of the municipality, to be removed.

 

Now therefore the council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

 

1. The Commissioner of Economic Development, Culture and Tourism be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to cut down and remove, or cause to be cut down and removed, the trees standing in the following highways,

 

Alyward St. (27) One (1) Blue Spruce tree, standing on the East side of Alyward St., abutting Part Lot 91, Plan 1917 on which is situated house #27.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition.

 

 

Branstone Rd. (83) One (1) Red Maple, standing on the East side of Branstone Rd., abutting W PT Lot 512 and PT Lot 511, Plan 1442 on which is situated house #83.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition.

 

 

Grimthorpe Rd. (7) One (1) Sugar Maple tree, standing on the South side of Grimthorpe Rd., abutting PT Lot 4, Plan 1866 on which is situated house #7.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition.

 

 

Guestville Ave. (137) One (1) Norway Maple tree, standing on the East side of Guestville Ave., abutting PT Lots 25 & 26, Plan 1013 on which is situated house #137.

 

Reason for removal: Damaged in storm.

 

 

Priscilla Ave. (47) One (1) Manitoba Maple tree, standing on the East side of Priscilla Ave., abutting Lot 76 and S PT Lot 75, Plan 916 on which is situated house #47.

 

Reason for removal: Tree is 1/2 dead.

 

 

Raymond Ave. (71) One (1) Silver Maple tree, standing on the South side of RaymondAve. , abutting Lot 116 NW PT and Lot 117 NE PT, Plan 1582 on which is situated house #71.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition.

 

 

Rosemount Ave. (239) One (1) Manitoba Maple tree, standing on the East side of Rosemount Ave., abutting PT Lot 8, Plan Con 5 on which is situated house #239.

 

Reason for removal: Tree in poor condition.
