Designation of 363-365 Adelaide Street East (Don River)
The Toronto Community Council recommends that authority be granted for the introduction of the necessary Bill
in Council to designate 363-365 Adelaide Street East for architectural and historical reasons under Part IV of the
Ontario Heritage Act, and that the appropriate City Officials be directed to take whatever action may be necessary
to comply with the provisions of the said Act in respect to such designation.
The Toronto Community Council submits the following report (September 29, 1998) from the Commissioner of
Corporate Services:
Recommendation:
That authority be granted for the introduction of the necessary Bill in Council to designate 363-365 Adelaide Street East
for architectural and historical reasons under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, and that the appropriate City Officials
be directed to take whatever action may be necessary to comply with the provisions of the said Act in respect to such
designation.
Comments:
Pursuant to the action of City Council at its meeting held on July 29, 30 and 31, 1998 (Toronto Community Council
Report No. 10, Clause 67), Notice of Intention to Designate 363-365 Adelaide Street East as a property of architectural
and historical value or interest was sent to the owner and the Ontario Heritage Foundation and, also in accordance with
Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act. Notice of such intention was published in a newspaper on August 26, 1998.
Both the Notice of Intention and the newspaper insertion stated that any objection be served on the City Clerk, c/o Frances
Pritchard, Interim Contact, Toronto Community Council within thirty days, expiring on September 25, 1998. No
objections have been received.
