BY-LAW No. -1998

To amend the former Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto By-law No. 118

respecting No. 1 Dundas Street West et al.

 The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

 1.By-law No. 118, being a By-law "Respecting Signs over Metropolitan Roads", as amended, is further amended by adding the following section:

2D.Notwithstanding Section 2A of this By-law, a canopy sign and sign tower with four signs attached to the sign tower, extending over the west limit of Yonge Street adjacent to the Eaton Centre municipally known in the year 1997 as including No. 1 Dundas Street West and located at a distance of 39.70 metres and 44.78 metres respectively south of the south limit of Shuter Street, may be permitted provided:

 (a)the overhead clearance of the canopy sign, and of the sign tower and signs attached to the sign tower, is at least 3.4 metres and 9.1 metres respectively above the level of the sidewalk and the canopy sign and sign tower and signs attached to the sign tower do not extend more than 2.4 metres over the street line; and

 (b)there is compliance with the requirements respecting the erection or alteration of signs specified in Sections 2 and 3.
