Subject: Children and Youth Action Committee Membership Changes

Recommendations:

The Children and Youth Action Committee recommended to the Community Services Committee that:

(1) Ms. Jane Mercer, be appointed to the Committee to represent the Toronto Coalition for Better Child Care to replace Ms. Cheryl MacDonald;

(2) Ms. Jane Mercer be deleted as the alternate member for Metro Campaign 2000;

(3) Ms. Wendy Cuthbertson be appointed to the Committee as a new member to represent the Canadian Auto Workers;

(4) Ms. Lorrie Huggins be appointed to the Committee as a new member to represent the YMCA; and

(5) Councillor Bussin be deleted from the membership of the Committee.

Background:

The Children and Youth Action Committee on October 29, 1999, had before it a communication (September 20, 1999) from Ms. Jane Mercer, Toronto Coalition for Better Child Care, submitting her name as the representative for the Toronto Coalition for Better Child Care and resigning as the alternate member for Metro Campaign 2000.

The Committee also had before it a communication (October 8, 1999) from Councillor Bussin advising of her resignation from the Committee.

The Committee's recommendations are noted above.
