TORONTO CYCLING COMMITTEE:

As you know, Councillor Jack Layton was recently appointed by Toronto City Council as the Councillor representative on the Toronto Cycling Committee. The Terms of Reference of the Committee state that, in addition to a Councillor Chair, two Citizen Members shall be elected as Co-Chairs.

For the information of the Committee, following is a list of the current Citizen Members, including one cycle courier representative, from which two Co-Chairs shall be elected:

-Jack Becker;

  • Steve Beiko (cycle courier representative);

-Israel Chackowicz;

  • Stephen Fisher;

-Gillian Flower;

-Ron Hart;

-Junya Ho;

-Nina Koskenoja;

-Clay McFayden;

-Linda Perkin;

-Phil Piltch;

-Janette Porter;

-Marleen Van Laethem;

-Emily White; and

-Hamish Wilson.

In addition, the position of Chair for the following Sub-Committees shall be filled from all categories of membership:

(1)Communications Sub-Committee;

(2)Education and Safety Sub-Committee;

(3)Network Planning and Facilities Sub-Committee; and

(4) Promotion and Development Sub-Committee.

Also, for the information of the Committee, the current Citizen Co-Chair is Mr. Jack Becker, who is also the incumbent Chair of the Network Planning and Facilities Sub-Committee. The current Co-Chairs of the Education and Safety Sub-Committee are Ms. Marleen Van Laethem and Mr.PhilPiltch.
