Subject:Toronto Atmospheric Fund - Appointment of new Director
Recommendation:
That the Corporate Services Committee receive the information that Dr. Monir Taha, Director/Associate Medical Officer of
Health for Healthy Environments, Public Health Division, Community and Neighbourhood Services, will be a Director of
the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, upon his commencement with the City of Toronto on April 6, 1999.
Background:
At its meeting on December 16 and 17, 1998, City Council adopted the recommendations in Clause 12 of Report 19 of the
Corporate Services Committee, titled "Toronto Atmospheric Fund - Appointment of Directors", one of which was as
follows:
"3. ... the Director, Healthy Environments, Public Health Divison, Community and Neighbourhood Services, be
appointed to the Board of Directors of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, to replace the position on the Board designated to
the Medical Officer of Health, and that the name of the individual who is appointed as Director, Healthy Environments, be
forwarded to the Corporate Services Committee when such person has been appointed."
Please be advised that Dr. Monir Taha has been appointed Director/Associate Medical Officer of Health for Healthy
Environments, Public Health Division, Community and Neighbourhood Services, and will be commencing with the City of
Toronto on April 6, 1999. He will, therefore, be a member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund on
that date.
