Subject:1999 - 2003 Capital Program: Playground Inspection Program and Costs.

Purpose:

This report is a referral from the Budget Committee and is presented for information of the Economic Development Committee.

Source of Funds:

The funding is not capital in nature and, as such, consideration should be given during the review of the 1999 Current Budget of the Parks & Recreation Division to a one time allocation of $60,000 to allow the project to proceed in 1999.

Recommendations:

It is recommended that:

(1).The Economic Development Committee receive the report for information;

(2)concur with the process outlined in the attachment including the consideration of a one time allocation of $60,000 in the Current Budget of the Parks & Recreation Division to allow the project to proceed in 1999; and

(3)the appropriate City officials be authorized to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.

Council Reference/Background/History:

The Budget Committee approved the attached report at its meeting of January 19, 1999 and forwarded the details to the Economic Development Committee for information.
