MINOR VARIANCE APPEALS
Purpose:
The purpose of this report is to seek direction from Council regarding appeals of the two
Committee of Adjustment decisions described below. This report is for the consideration of
the East York Community Council at their meeting of May 26, 1999.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that this report be received for information.

Variance Application A.7/99EY
M. J. Design Consultants
Re: 30 Athlone Road
The owners of 30 Athlone Road are proposing to demolish the existing dwelling and construct
a new two-storey detached dwelling. They applied to the Committee of Adjustment for a
variance from the maximum floor space index requirement. The Committee refused the
application at their hearing on March 16, 1999. The owners appealed the decision to the
Ontario Municipal Board.
Staff did not take a position on this application, and do not recommend that Council direct
staff to attend the Ontario Municipal Board hearing.
Variance Application A.21/99EY
Craft Construction Group Inc.
Re:15 Fairland Road
The applicants are proposing to demolish the existing dwelling and detached garage at 15
Fairland Road, and construct a new two-storey detached dwelling. They applied to the
Committee of Adjustment for a variance from the maximum floor space index requirement.
The Committee refused the application on February 16, 1999. The applicants appealed the
decision to the Ontario Municipal Board.
Staff did not take a position on this application, and do not recommend that Council direct
staff to attend the Ontario Municipal Board hearing.
