RE:Signs & Parking Spaces - Leaside Branch - Toronto Public Library
I would like to request that staff in the Transportation Services Division investigate and if feasible, install new signage
indicating parking regulations on the McRae Road side of the Leaside Branch of the Toronto Public Library. In addition, I
request the work include re-painting the parking lines and the lines that delineate "No Parking". Staff are requested to
report back to the September Community Council meeting regarding their findings and actions.
Residents in the area are indicating that there is an increase in traffic and illegal parking along McRae and the crosswalk
from the Library to the corner of Crandall and McRae has become a dangerous crossing area. I have had opportunity to
speak with the Chief Librarian Josephine Bryant, and she concurs with the above solution.
I bring this to the attention of Community Council members and residents of the ward for comment and for information.
Could you please include this item on the agenda of the East York Community Council meeting being held on Thursday
July 15th, 1999.
Thank you,
JANE PITFIELD
Councillor - Ward 1
