The North York Community Council reports having deferred consideration of following
report to its next meeting scheduled for April 28, 1999:
The North York Community Council also reports, for the information of Council, having
requested the Director, Transportation Services, District 3, to circulate a survey to area
residents to ascertain whether there is public acceptance of the installation of an all way stop
control at the intersection of King High Avenue (east) leg and Invermay Avenue.
The North York Community Council also reports having had before it a petition
(March29,1999) signed by 16 residents of Invermay Avenue, in opposition to the proposed
installation of the three way stop sign.
(March 1, 1999) from the Director, Transportation Services, District 3, recommending that
Schedules XVIII and XIX of By-law No. 31001, of the former City of North York, be
amended to require traffic to stop on all approaches to the intersection of King High Avenue
(east leg) and Invermay Avenue.

Subject:All Way Stop Control: King High Avenue (east leg) at Invermay Avenue

Purpose:To install an all way stop control to improve pedestrian and motorists safety, at the
intersection of King High Avenue (east leg) and Invermay Avenue.
Source of funds:
All costs associated with the installation of the all way stop control are included within the
1999 operating budget.
Recommendations:
That Schedules XVIII and XIX of By-Law #31001, of the former City of North York, be
amended to require traffic to stop on all approaches to the intersection of King High Avenue
(east leg) and Invermay Avenue.
Council Reference/Background/History:
Currently, northbound motorists on King High Avenue are required to stop at Invermay
Avenue.
Comments and/or Discussion and/or Justification:
The Transportation Services Division of the Works and Emergency Services Department has
reviewed a request from a resident to consider the installation of an all way stop control at the
intersection of King High Avenue (east leg) and Invermay Avenue.
The results of the most recent all way stop study concluded that the technical requirements for
the installation of an all way stop control have been satisfied.
Conclusions:
In view of the above, this division supports the installation of an all way stop control at the
intersection of King high Avenue (east leg) and Invermay Avenue.
