Subject: Membership to the Toronto Committee on Community, Race and Ethnic Relations (North York Division) and the Six-Month Workplan and Budget

The Toronto Committee on Community, Race and Ethnic Relations (North York Division) has been operating since January 1, 1998 without a full compliment of nine citizen members. Two members have resigned and we are presently working with seven members. Pending City Council's determination of the structure of the local/regional access and equity working groups, the Toronto Committee on Community, Race and Ethnic Relations (North York Division) wishes to maintain an adequate membership to fulfill its current mandate.

I have enclosed for your information a copy of the Structure, Mandate and Procedure document for the Committee.

I have also enclosed for your information a copy of the Six-Month Workplan, which was prepared and forwarded to Ms. Ceta Ramkhlawansingh, Equal Opportunity Toronto.

I would respectfully request your concurrence to allow our Committee to appoint two members of the public, who have assisted Committee in the past, to be full members until such time as City Council makes its final determinations with regard to the structure of the local/regional access and working groups.
