3.OVERNIGHT PARKING PROHIBITION - NORTH BONNINGTON AVENUE

6.CLASSICAL CHINESE GARDEN

Recommending that Community Council:

(1)nominate up to three members of Community Council to serve on a Garden Fundraising Committee to work with appointed representatives of the Chinese Cultural Centre, with powers to appoint any additional members with specific expertise, as required;

(2)forward this report to City Council seeking interest in membership on the Fundraising Committee from other Councillors; and

(3)receive a progress report from the Fundraising Committee every six months.

7.1998 ANNUAL RECREATION RECOGNITION NIGHT

(1)that The 43rd Annual Recognition Night be held on Friday, May 28, 1998, at Malvern Community Recreation Centre; and

8.REQUEST FOR FENCE BY-LAW EXEMPTION

Recommending that the Director, Community Planning, East District, be directed to make application to the Committee of Adjustment, under Section 45(2)(b) of The Planning Act, for a minor variance to permit retail vending in Albert Campbell Square, and, upon approval of same by the Committee of Adjustment, the Manager, Municipal Standards, East District, be directed to renew the current vending licences for the calendar year 1999.

Recommending that City Council:

(1)endorse the draft Rouge Park Partnership memorandum with the suggestion that the words 'local and regional municipalities' be replaced with the word 'municipalities'; and

(2)that the Commissioners of Urban Planning and Development Services, Works and Emergency Services, and Economic Development, Culture and Tourism appoint staff to serve on the proposed Rouge Park Technical Committee for Land Use and Development.

(b)Town Clerk, Town of Pickering

Advising that the Council of the Town of Pickering, at its meeting held on December7, 1998, passed the following Resolution:

"(1)that Town Council endorse the 'Partnership Memorandum for the Co-ordination of Land Use Planning and Development Activities' between The Rouge Park Alliance and The Rouge Park Planning and Land Use Partners, dated April, 1998, and contained in Appendix I to Planning Report 17-98; and

(2)that the Town Clerk forward a copy of Planning Report No. 17-98, together with Council's Resolution on this matter to the Rouge Park Alliance and other Partners."

(4)that Council authorize any unsubstantive technical, stylistic or format changes to the exemption by-law as may be required to give effect to this resolution.

22.ACCEPTANCE OF SERVICES

(2)Legal Services be authorized to release the performance guarantee with the exception of a cash deposit in the amount of $3,000.00 as set out in the attached report; and

(3)the City Clerk and Treasurer be authorized to sign any release or other documentation necessary to give effect to this acceptance.
