From:Angie Antoniou, Manager, Right of Way Management, Transportation Services, District 1
Subject:Maintenance of a Wood Trellis - Fronting 71 Rainsford Road (East Toronto)
Purpose:
To report on the homeowner's request to maintain a wood trellis within the City's right-of-way fronting 71 Rainsford Road.
As there is no specific provision for this type of installation in the former City of Toronto Municipal Code, I am required to
report on this matter.
Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
Not applicable.
Recommendation:
That City Council approve the maintenance of the wood trellis within the City's right-of-way fronting Rainsford Road,
subject to the owner entering into an encroachment agreement with the City of Toronto as prescribed under Chapter 313 of
the former City of Toronto Municipal Code.
Comments:
Ms. Winona Gallop, 71 Rainsford Road, Toronto, Ontario M4L 3N7, submitted an application dated September 11, 1998,
requesting permission to maintain a wood trellis within the City's right-of-way at the above location.
Staff have inspected the area in the immediate vicinity of this property and have determined that the trellis does not impact
negatively on the public right-of-way.
Conclusions:
As this trellis does not impact negatively on the public right-of-way, the trellis should be permitted to remain.
