		November 3, 1999 WORKS COMMITTEE: The Works Committee on November 3, 1999, had before it a report (October 27, 1999) from Mr. Cosmo Mannella, Labourers International Union of North America (LIUNA) Canadian Tri Fund, requesting the opportunity to give a presentation to the Works Committee on LIUNA's efforts to have the federal government establish a fund for environmental remediation, similar to the U.S. Superfund. The Committee: (1) endorsed, in principle, the initiative outlined in the aforementioned communication with a request that Mr. Mannella be invited to appear before the Committee at its next meeting, scheduled to be held on December 1, 1999; and (2) suggested that Mr. Mannella also contact the Federation of Canadian Municipalities with respect thereto.
