16.APPLICATION FOR LIQUOR LICENCE

2007 LAWRENCE AVENUE WEST, UNIT #14 - ROBINSON CRUSOE

Purpose:

To provide departmental comments following circulation of Municipal Information form from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and the Licence Clearance form completed by the applicant.

Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:

None.

Recommendations:

That authorization be provided to forward department comments to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario

Council Reference/Background/History:

On March 26, 1998, copies of the Municipal Information form and Licence Clearance form were circulated for comments.

Comments and/or Discussion and/or Justification:

The following is a breakdown of departmental comments received:

Development Services Department (July 17, 1998):

"Regarding the subject licence application, the Development Services Department has reviewed all available permits, drawings, and documentation submitted in support of the application and has conducted site inspections as necessary to determine compliance with the applicable zoning, building and plumbing regulations with the following to be noted:

Premises in compliance with zoning, building and plumbing regulations."

Fire Department (November 9, 1998):

"In regards to the March 30, 1998 application, please be advised that we have no objection to the issuance of a liquor licence for this premises.

The maximum occupant load of this premises with non-fixed tables and chairs should not exceed 230 persons."

Health Department (November 24, 1998):

"This establishment is under regular routine inspection by inspectors of this Health Department and no Health Department orders under Food Premises Regulation 562/90 are currently outstanding against it.

We have no objection to the issuance of a liquor licence.

Community Services Department, Municipal Standards Division (April 1, 1998):

"The Municipal Standards Division of the Community Services Department has no active file in relation to the above-mentioned premises and therefore have no comments."

Works and Emergency Services Department (March 31, 1998):

"Please be advised I have reviewed the above application for a liquor licence at 2007 Lawrence Avenue West, Unit 14, Robinson Crusoe, and have no comment."

Toronto Licensing Commission (May 5, 1998):

"Please be advised Commission records indicate 1286281 Ontario Inc., operating as Robinson Crusoe, submitted an application on March 26, 1998, for a restaurant: refreshments (seating capacity over 40) (accommodate 245 people) licence. The application remains outstanding.

There are no complaints or investigations regarding the premises."

Conclusions:

That the above comments now be forwarded to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario as departmental clearances have been provided.
