PROPOSED BY-LAW REGARDING THE ALTERATION OF MCROBERTS AVENUE BY THE INSTALLATION OF SPEED HUMPS FROM ST. CLAIR AVENUE WEST TO ROGERS ROAD - Ward 28, York Eglinton.

Public hearing on a proposed by-law to amend By-law No. 602,89, being a By-law to Authorize the Construction, Widening, Narrowing, Alteration and Repair of Sidewalks, Pavements and Curbs at Various Locations, respecting the alteration of McRoberts Avenue by the installation of speed humps from St. Clair Avenue West to Rogers Road.

Ref. Clause No. 7 of Report No. 5 of the York Community Council and Clause No. 58 of Report No. 7 of the Toronto Community Council, as adopted by City Council on May 11 and 12, 1999.

To further amend former City of Toronto By-law No. 602-89, being "A By-law To authorize the construction, widening, narrowing, alteration and repair of sidewalks, pavements and curbs at various locations", respecting the alteration of McRoberts Avenue by the installation of speed humps from St. Clair Avenue West to Rogers Road.

WHEREAS notice of a proposed By-law regarding the proposed alteration was published in a daily newspaper on August 23, 30, September 7 and September 13, 1999 and interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard at a public meeting held on September 14, 1999 and it is appropriate to amend the by-law to permit the alteration.

The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

1.Former City of Toronto By-law No. 602-89, being "A By-law To authorize the construction, widening, narrowing, alteration and repair of sidewalks, pavements and curbs at various locations", is amended:

(1)by inserting in Columns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, respectively, of Schedule "B-4" (Pavement Alteration/Repair) the following:

ALTERATION OF McROBERTS AVENUE

(Ward 21 - Davenport )

(Ward 28 - York Eglinton)

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Toronto proposes to pass a by-law to authorize the alteration of McRoberts Avenue from St. Clair Avenue West to Rogers Road by the installation of speed humps with a possible future reduction in speed from 40 km/hr to 30 km/hr on those portions of street.

The proposed by-law and plans showing the lands to be affected may be seen in my office, Secretariat Division , 4th Floor, West Tower, 100 Queen Street West, City Hall or 2nd Floor, 2700 Eglinton Avenue West, York Civic Centre. If you require any special assistance (Toronto Community Council area), please call 392-7033 (TTY 392-7354).

At its meeting to be held in the Council Chamber at the City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, on the 14th day of September, 1999 at 2:00 p.m., the Toronto Community Council will hear in person or by his or her counsel, agent or solicitor, any person who claims that his or her lands will be prejudicially affected by the proposed by-law and who applies to be heard, with respect to the MAJOR portion of the proposed by-law contained in the Toronto Community Council area (Ward 21, Davenport, boundary just south of Rogers Road).

At its meeting to be held in the Council Chamber at the York Civic Centre, on the 14th day of September, 1999 at 7:30 p..m., the York Community Council will hear in person or by his or her counsel, agent or solicitor, any person who claims that his or her lands will be prejudicially affected by the proposed by-law and who applies to be heard, with respect to the MINOR portion of the proposed by-law contained in the York Community Council area (Ward 28, York Eglinton, between the Ward 21 boundary and Rogers Road).
