POLL RESULTS: PROPOSAL TO IMPLEMENT ON-STREET PERMIT PARKING ON

HUMBER HILL AVENUE - Ward 27, York Humber

Purpose:

To show results of a poll conducted of residents on Humber Hill Avenue regarding a proposal to implement on-street permit parking.

Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:

None.

Recommendation:

For the consideration and direction of York Community Council.

Council Reference:

Clause No. 7(k) embodied in Report No. 15 of York Community Council (1998).

Clause No. 12(d) embodied in Report No. 5 of York Community Council (1999).

Background:

York Community Council, at its meeting held on December 9, 1998 directed that the City Clerk conduct a poll of residents on Humber Hill Avenue to determine interest in the implementation of on-street permit parking.

York Community Council considered this matter once again at its meeting on April 28, 1999, upon receipt of the poll results and directed that residents on Humber Hill Avenue be re-polled regarding this matter.

Comments and/or Discussion and/or Justification:

The following is a breakdown of the poll results, based on the number of replies returned:

Total No. Polled:9

No. of Replies Received:3 or 33%

No. of Replies IN FAVOUR:1 or 33%

No. of Replies NOT IN FAVOUR:2 or 67%

The following is an overall breakdown of responses, according to resident owners, non-resident owners and tenants:

Conclusions:

As noted above, the majority of residents, based on the responses received, are not in favour of the proposal to implement on-street permit parking on Humber Hill Avenue.
