INDOOR TENNIS
Councillor J. Mihevc
(October 12, 1999)
I have been approached by Vlasta Bronkovsky, a professional tennis instructor. She mentioned the lack of public indoor
tennis facilities in Toronto. While there are few private indoor facilities for tennis, nothing exists at a public level where
enthusiasts can play and practice year round.
Ms. Bronkovsky has a suggestion that I think is worthy of exploration. Currently, there are twelve courts at the Eglinton
flats, six of which are put under a bubble each winter. Her suggestion is to build a permanent indoor structure for the area
covered by the six courts.
The idea is worthy of exploration. I would request that staff explore this possibility and come back with a report as soon as
possible.
