BY-LAW No.

To amend further By-law No. 20-85, a by-law

"Respecting the licensing, regulating and governing

of trades, callings, businesses and occupations

in the Metropolitan Area", being a by-law of the former

Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto.

The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

1.Subsections 6(4) and 8(3) of Schedule 12 to By-law No. 20-85, a By-law "Respecting the licensing, regulating and governing of trades, callings, businesses and occupations in the Metropolitan Area" as amended, being a by-law of the former Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, are repealed.

2.Schedule 12 to By-law No. 20-85, as amended, is further amended by adding the following section:

10.(1)No instructor shall give driving instructions involving the execution of vehicle manoeuvring:

(a)on that portion of any street abutting a school or playground which, together with the adjoining streets, forms the block in which such school or playground is situated;

(b)in any public park in the City of Toronto;

(c)within the area bounded on the west by Jane Street, on the north by Sheppard Avenue West, on the south by Lawrence Avenue West, and on the east by Dufferin Street, and the southwest boundary of the Downsview Airport;

(d)within the area bounded on the north by Highway 401, on the west by the Don Valley Parkway, on the east by Warden Avenue and the Ashtonbee CPR spurline and on the south by Eglinton Avenue East; and

(e)on any street or highway which forms the boundaries of the areas described in clauses (c) and (d) of this subsection.

(2)No driving school operator shall cause or permit driving instruction to be given on or in any of the streets, highways or areas described in subsection (1) of this section.

3.This by-law shall come into force on the date of its enactment.
