BY-LAW No. - 1999
To enact a by-law pursuant to Chapter 134 of the Etobicoke Municipal Code,
a by-law providing for the designation of fire routes
in the geographic area of Etobicoke,
a by-law of the former City of Etobicoke.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City of Toronto Act, 1997, S.O. 1997, c. 2, every by-law or
resolution of an old council that is in force immediately before January 1st, 1998 is deemed to
be a by-law or resolution of the Council of the City of Toronto and remains in force, in respect
of the part of the urban area to which it applied immediately before January 1st, 1998, until
the Council repeals it or amends it to provide otherwise; and
WHEREAS Chapter 134 of the Municipal Code of the former City of Etobicoke provides for
the designation of a fire route on the site of a building or structure where the building or
structure was in existence at the time of the enactment of this Chapter; and
WHEREAS Chapter 134 of the Etobicoke Municipal Code was in force in the former
Etobicoke immediately before January 1st, 1998 and has not been repealed or amended to
provide otherwise by the Council of the City of Toronto; and
WHEREAS the owner of a building or structure has applied for the designation of a Fire
Route on the site, as provided for in Chapter 134-6 of the Etobicoke Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS the Fire Route has been constructed in accordance with Chapter 134 of the
Etobicoke Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS Chapter 134 of the Etobicoke Municipal Code requires the enactment of a by-law
to designate the Fire Route,
The Council of The City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1.By this By-law a Fire Route is designated on the following site:
95 Melbert Road
as shown on the plan attached hereto as Schedule "A", which forms part of this By-law.
