BY-LAW No. -1999

To Delegate the Power to Sign Statements under Section 323 of the Municipal Act

as to the Licensing or Non-Licensing of any Premises or Person in Respect of any

Trade, Calling, Business or Occupation

WHEREAS Section 323 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. M. 45, provides for statements receivable in evidence as proof, in absence of evidence to the contrary, of the licensing or non-licensing of any premises or person in respect of any trade, calling, business or occupation;

AND WHEREAS Section 102.1 of the said Act, as amended, provides that the council of a Municipality may, by by-law, delegate any powers, duties or functions that are administrative in nature to a committee of council or to an employee of the municipality;

The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

1.The power to sign statements under Section 323 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.M.45, as to the licensing or non-licensing of any premises or person in respect of any trade, calling, business or occupation is hereby delegated to the following City officials, namely:

(a)the Commissioner of Urban Planning and Development Services,

(b)the Executive Director of Municipal Licensing and Standards,

(c)the Director of Municipal Licensing and Standards, and

(d)the Director of Taxis.
