Parking Restrictions on Rumsey Road

between Broadway Avenue and

Glenvale Boulevard

The East York Community Council recommends:

(1)implementation of a one-hour parking limit on both sides of Rumsey Road, between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday;

(2)implementation of a "No Parking Anytime" restriction on both sides of Rumsey Road between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00a.m., Monday to Friday;

(3)that the Toronto Police Service be requested to monitor and enforce compliance with the parking restrictions described in the foregoing Recommendations Nos. (1) and (2) for the first 30 - 60 days after the implementation of such parking restrictions; and

(4)that the appropriate City officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect to the foregoing, including the introduction of the necessary Bill in Council.

The East York Community Council submits the following report (June 10, 1999) from the CityClerk:

Purpose:

To report the results of a traffic poll conducted on Rumsey Road between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard in connection with the:

(a)implementation of one-hour parking limit on both sides of Rumsey Road, between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday; and

(b)implementation of a "No Parking Anytime" restriction on both sides of Rumsey Road between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., Monday to Friday.

Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:

The proposed changes can be accommodated from within the existing Operating Budget.

Recommendation:

It is recommended that this report be received for information.

Council Reference/Background/History:

The East York Community Council at its meeting held on April 13, 1999, requested the City Clerk to poll the residents of Rumsey Road between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard with respect to the:

(a)Implementation of one-hour parking limit on both sides of Rumsey Road, between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday; and

(b)Implementation of a "No Parking Anytime" restriction on both sides of Rumsey Road between Broadway Avenue and Glenvale Boulevard, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., Monday to Friday.
