Implementation of Alternate Side Overnight

Permit Parking on Woodycrest Avenue between

Mortimer Avenue and Westwood Avenue

The East York Community Council recommends:

(1)the implementation of Alternate Side Overnight Permit Parking on Woodycrest Avenue between Mortimer Avenue and Westwood Avenue; and

(2)that the appropriate City officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect to the foregoing, including the introduction of the necessary Bill in Council.

The East York Community Council reports having requested the Manager, Traffic Operations, to submit a report to the next meeting of the Community Council, scheduled to be held on July 15, 1999, should any complications arise, such as, if more applications for permit parking are received than there are available parking spaces.

The East York Community Council submits the following report (June 10, 1999) from the City Clerk:

Purpose:

To report the results of a traffic poll conducted on Woodycrest Avenue between Mortimer Avenue and Westwood Avenue regarding the implementation of Alternate Side Overnight Permit Parking.

Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:

The proposed changes can be accommodated from within the existing Operating Budget.

Recommendation:

It is recommended that this report be received for information.

Council Reference/Background/History:

The East York Community Council at its meeting held on April 13, 1999, requested the City Clerk to poll the residents of Woodycrest Avenue between Mortimer Avenue and Westwood Avenue with respect to the implementation of Alternate Side Overnight Permit Parking.

The results of the poll are as follows:

Comments returned with the poll have been provided to the Councillors representing East York, Ward One.

Conclusions:

The East York Community Council is requested to consider the poll results in determination of the implementation of Alternate Side Overnight Permit Parking on Woodycrest Avenue between Mortimer Avenue and Westwood Avenue.
