All Way Stop Control - Honiton Street at Kennard Avenue -

The North York Community Council recommends the adoption of the following report (June 2, 1999) from the
Director, Transportation Services, District 3:
Purpose:
To install an all way stop control at the intersection of Honiton Street and Kennard Avenue.
Source of funds:
All costs associated with the installation of the all way stop control are included within the 1999 operating budget.
Recommendation:
That Schedules XVIII and XIX of By-law No. 31001, of the former City of North York, be amended to require traffic to
stop on all approaches to the intersection Honiton Street and Kennard Avenue.
Background:
As a result of requests from local residents, staff of the Transportation Services Division of the Works and Emergency
Services Department investigated the feasibility of installing an all way stop control at the intersection of Honiton Street
and Kennard Avenue.
Currently, northbound and southbound motorists on Honiton Street are required to stop at Kennard Avenue.
Discussion:
The results of an all way stop study confirmed that the technical requirements for the installation of an all way stop control
have been satisfied at the intersection of Honiton Street at Kennard Avenue.
Conclusions:
The installation of the stop controls would not adversely impact traffic operations on Honiton Street or Kennard Avenue.
and would provide additional safety for both motorists and pedestrians within the intersection.
