(a)Proclamation - "Lesbian and Gay Pride Week" - June 21-27, 1999.

The North York Community Council reports having had Councillor Feldman, Chairman, North York Community Council, read out loud, at the commencement of the meeting, the following Proclamation on behalf of Mayor Mel Lastman:

"WHEREAS the new City of Toronto is proud to be one of the most diverse cities in the world, believing in equality, safety, prosperity and hope; and

WHEREAS Toronto's Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee received the City of Toronto's 1998 Tourism Toronto Award for "Best Festival/Event", and 1999's "One Pride Fits All" event promises to be an even bigger and better celebration in our city; and

WHEREAS Toronto's Lesbian and Gay Pride Week is the result of months of hard work by an all-volunteer organization and Pride Committee, as well as hundreds of volunteers and community partners; and

WHEREAS Toronto's Lesbian and Gay Pride Week celebrations have now become among the largest in North America, with more than 600,000 people enjoying the parade and other events during the week; and

WHEREAS Toronto's Lesbian and Gay Pride Week is also one of the largest and most important cultural events in the city, playing an important part in Toronto's economic vitality by bringing in thousands of visitors and guests for a week of fun and celebration; and

WHEREAS Toronto has a strong, vibrant and proud Gay and Lesbian community - the third largest in North America - and an important part of the rich fabric of our diverse City; and

WHEREAS I can personally confirm the warmth, enthusiasm, excitement and tremendous spirit of Lesbian and Gay Pride Week, and its participants, sponsors and attendees;.

NOW THEREFORE, I Mel Lastman, Mayor of the City of Toronto, on behalf of the people of our great City, am pleased to proclaim June 21-27, 1999, as "Lesbian and Gay Pride Week" in Toronto and invite everyone to join in a celebration of achievement and equality."

(b)Preliminary Evaluation Report - Zoning Amendment Application UDZ-99-15 - Manjit S. Mangat - 150 Finch Avenue West - North York Centre.

The North York Community Council reports having received the following report:

(June 8, 1999) from the Acting Director, Community Planning, North District, providing preliminary comments on an application to amend the Zoning By-law to permit five freehold townhouses at 150 Finch Avenue West; and recommending that staff continue processing the application in the manner outlined in the report.

(c)Preliminary Evaluation Report - Zoning Amendment Application UDZ-99-12 - Anne Judson - 187 Finch Avenue West - North York Centre.

The North York Community Council reports having received the following report:

(June 8, 1999) from the Acting Director, Community Planning, North District, providing preliminary comments on an application to amend the Zoning By-law to permit an existing 1 ½ storey single family dwelling to be converted to a real estate office; and recommending that staff continue processing the application in the manner outlined in the report.

(d)Preliminary Evaluation Report - Official Plan and Zoning Amendment Application UDOZ-99-11 - Weston Consulting Group for 1333955 Ontario Incorporated - 1723 Finch Avenue West - Black Creek.

The North York Community Council reports having received the following report:

The North York Community Council also reports for the information of Council having requested the Acting Director, Community Planning, North District, to bring forward, prior to the final report, a separate specific report on the top-of-bank, to be considered at a future North York Community Council meeting.

(June 8, 1999) from the Acting Director, Community Planning, North District, providing preliminary comments on an application to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law to permit the development of 24 condominium townhouse units on a private road; and recommending that staff continue processing the application in the manner outlined in the report.

(e)Preliminary Evaluation Report - Zoning Amendment Application UDZ-99-10 and Site Plan Approval Application UDSP-99-029 - Terraventure Group - 76 Spring Garden Avenue - North York Centre.

The North York Community Council reports having received the following report:

(June 8, 1999) from the Acting Director, Community Planning, North District, providing preliminary comments on an application to amend the Zoning By-law and a related Site Plan Approval application to permit three three-storey freehold townhouses at 76 Spring Garden Avenue; and recommending that staff continue processing the application in the manner outlined in the report.

(f)Report - New Development Applications for North District. The North York Community Council reports having received the following report:

(June 8, 1999) from the Acting Director, Community Planning, North District, reporting on new development applications (zoning and official plan amendments, lifting of (H) holding zone designations and plans of subdivision) received by the Planning Division, North District, from April 28, 1999 to May 26, 1999.
