The Striking Committee also submits the following communication (May 4, 1999) from Councillor Brad Duguid,
Scarborough City Centre:
I write with regard to the agenda item pertaining to the appointment of Members of Council to the Task Force on
Community Safety.
I wish to advise you of my preference to continue as a Member of the Task Force on Community Safety. While the bulk of
our initial work has been done, it is important that the Members of this newly reconstituted Task Force are committed to
the difficult job of monitoring and guiding the implementation of the Task Force on Community Safety Recommendations.
I would welcome the opportunity to work with Councillor Rob Davis and the other Members of Council who are appointed
to the Task Force. In particular, I would recommend that Councillors such as Chris Korwin-Kuczynski and Bruce Sinclair
be considered, as they contribute greatly to the Task Force's work over the last year and a half and their continued interest
and involvement would be helpful.
Thank you for your consideration.
