Comments:
At the request of the owner of the Liberty Street Cafe, Premises No. 25 Liberty Street and in consultation with
Trinity-Niagara Councillors Joe Pantalone and Mario Silva, Transportation Services staff have investigated the feasibility
of relocating parking from the west side of Atlantic Avenue between Liberty Street and the C.N.R. right-of-way to the east
side in order to increase on-street parking availability for the patrons of local businesses.
Parking demand in the immediate area has increased due to new and expanding businesses. There are currently eighteen
parking spaces on the west side of Atlantic Avenue between Liberty Street and the C.N.R. right-of-way and a potential of
thirty-four parking spaces on the east side. Parking is currently permitted to a maximum period of three hours on the west
side and prohibited anytime on the east side.
Relocating parking from the west side to the east side will increase available on-street parking spaces by sixteen, enhancing
parking opportunity on this street.
Implementation of this proposal will not adversely affect operational safety on the subject section of Atlantic Avenue.
