BY-LAW No. [By-law number]

To amend By-law No. 47-1998 providing for the formulation and implementation

of a plan for the provision of emergency services during emergencies

affecting the City of Toronto.

WHEREAS at its meeting held on March 4, 5 and 6, 1998, the Council of the City of Toronto enacted By-law No. 47-1998 establishing the framework for the City to respond to an emergency and to authorize a Toronto Emergency Planning Committee (the "Committee") to formulate an emergency plan;

AND WHEREAS it is desirable and appropriate to amend By-law No. 47-1998 to include a representative of the Ontario Hospital Association as a member of the Committee and to reflect changes to the standing committee structure of the Council of the City of Toronto;

The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

1.By-law No. 47-1998, being a by-law to provide for the formulation and implementation of a plan for the provision of emergency services during emergencies affecting the City of Toronto (the "By-law"), is hereby amended by deleting subsection 1(g), re-numbering subsections 1(b) through 1(f) as subsections 1(c) through 1(g) and adding the following as subsection 1(b):

(b)"CSC" means the Community Services Committee of the Council of the City of Toronto or any successor committee responsible for emergency planning issues;

2.The By-law is further amended by deleting the acronym "EPSC" wherever it appears in the By-law and substituting the acronym "CSC" therefor.

3.The By-law is further amended by deleting the word "and" at the end of clause 2(2)(l), deleting the period at the end of clause 2(2)(m) and substituting a comma and the word "and" therefor, and adding the following as clause 2(2)(n):

(n)a regional representative of the Ontario Hospital Association.

4.The By-law is further amended by deleting the words "Emergency and Protective Services Committee" in the heading to section 19 and substituting the words "Community Services Committee" therefor.

5.The By-law is further amended by deleting section 21 and re-numbering section 22 as section 21.

6.This by-law shall come into force on the date of its enactment.
