Subject: Remuneration and Expenses of Members of Council and of Council Appointees to Local Boards and Other
Special Purpose Bodies for the Period January 1 to December 31, 1999.
Purpose:
To advise Council on the status of the 1999 report on Councillors remuneration and expenses.
Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
There are no financial implications.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that this report be received and forwarded to Council for information.
Background:
In accordance with Section No. 247(1) of The Municipal Act (R.S.O. 1990), the City Treasurer shall submit an itemized
statement of remuneration and expenses paid to Members of Council and Council Appointees of Local Boards and other
Special Purpose Bodies.
Legislation requires that this Statement be presented to Council by the end of February. Due to year end processing
schedules and information gathering from the City Boards and Agencies, the report will not be available for submission
prior to that date. This report for 1999 will be forwarded to the Administration Committee meeting on March 21, 2000 and
subsequently to Council on April 12, 2000.
