Minutes

Present: Barb, Issy, Marleen, Steve, Linda, Phil ( scribe )

Regrets: Gillian

1) Announcements: Issy to meet with School board ( Eleanor Dudar ?? ) about bike school.

2) Joint meeting with other sub-committees - staff requirements, meeting times. Barb suggested that meeting dates coincide.

On December 15 there will be meetings of the Promotions & Development Sub-committee, Communications Sub-committee and the Network & Facilities Planning Sub-committee as follows:

5:30pm NPFSC business

6:30pm Bike Show display

7:30 PM Presentation on Hydro Corridor Bike Route plans

It was decided to hold a SESC meeting on January 5, 2000 at 500 University Ave 7pm to discuss staff and budget issues for next year.

3) Bike Master Plan - public meetings - Phil to attend Toronto and Scarborough, Issy to attend Etobicoke, Marleen - Toronto, Linda - Toronto, Steve - Toronto.

4) OCA Update - there was a recent meeting organized by cycling groups from Niagara and Hamilton regions to establish a parallel organization to the OCA that would support non-competitive cycling. Further meetings have been planned to get structure in place and determine the name of this organization. The next meeting was set for February 5th at Metro Hall with a cost of $15 per person attending. Issy suggested liaison with Velo Quebec on possible structure.

5) Smog Debate - at the last meeting of the TCC, it was agreed to set time at the beginning of the meeting to discuss selected topics connected to the Cycling Master Plan. January's topic is to be smog/air pollution. It was suggested by SESC that general public be invited to join in these discussion by announcing via Now, Eye, Green Pages and other means. Issy will follow up on this.
