February 2, 2000

To: Toronto Cycling Committee

From: Co-Chairs, Education and Safety Sub Committee

Subject: Application to the Toronto District School Board for

Standing as a Community Liaison Group.

The Education and Safety Sub-Committee at its meeting held on January 25, 2000, discussed facilitating communication between the Toronto Cycling Committee and the Toronto District School Board. It was suggested by Mr. Issie Chackowicz that we apply for standing as a Community Liaison Group.

The purpose of the Community Liaison Group is to facilitate an ongoing working relationship between the Board and system-wide community groups who wish to contribute to the mission and work of the Board in areas of specific interest to their group. Two members of the Toronto Cycling Committee would need to volunteer to sit on the Community Liaison Group, if the Board accepted our application.

The Education and Safety Sub-Committee recommended to the Toronto Cycling Committee that it forward an application to the Toronto District School Board to participate as a Community Liaison Group and appoint two Members of the Committee as its representatives.
