CHAIR AND MEMBERS

OF COMMUNITY COUNCIL

CITY OF TORONTO

ETOBICOKE CIVIC CENTRE

399 THE WEST MALL

TORONTO ON M9C 4Z5

Chair and Members of Etobicoke Community Council:

RE: SETTLEMENT OF APPEAL - ETOBICOKE OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT No. 74-99

BY-LAW 645-1999 / 1308684 ONTARIO LIMITED

3085 BLOOR STREET WEST AND 20 THOMPSON AVENUE

__________________________________________________________________________________

At its meeting held on December 14, 15 and 16, 1999, Toronto City Council adopted a recommendation presumed to the Ontario Municipal Board a modified version of Official Plan Amendment No. 74-99. This amendment permitted the development of a 6-storey apartment building on two properties located at the south-west corner of Bloor Street West and Thompson Avenue in the former City of Etobicoke.

Objections to the amendment were filed on behalf of two local residents associations: The Thompson Orchard Community Association and The Kingsway Sunnylea Residents' Association. As a result of settlement discussions conducted between the residents, the developers and City staff, proposed modifications to the Official Plan Amendment were agreed and endorsed for presentation to the Ontario Municipal Board.

The amendments were presented to the Municipal Board at a Teleconference convened on January 11, 2000. Representatives of all parties participated in the Teleconference which was chaired by Diana Santo, Vice-Chair of the Municipal Board.

After receiving submissions on the matter, Ms. Santo on behalf of the Board approved the modified version of the Official Plan Amendment No. 74-99. The Board's Order establishing the final version of the amendment will be issued shortly.

Yours truly,

REBLE, RITCHIE, GREEN & KETCHESON
