Subject: Traffic Poll Results: Implementation of Alternate Side Overnight Permit Parking on
Monarch Park Avenue between Queensdale Avenue and Springdale Avenue.
Purpose:
To report on the results of a traffic poll conducted on Monarch Park Avenue between Queensdale
Avenue and Springdale Avenue regarding the implementation of alternate side overnight permit
parking.
Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
The proposed changes can be accommodated from within the existing Operating Budget.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the East York Community Council consider the poll results and determine
whether or not to implement alternate side overnight permit parking on Monarch Park Avenue
between Queensdale Avenue and Springdale Avenue.
Council Reference/Background/History:
The East York Community Council, at its meeting held on November 9, 1999, requested the
City Clerk to poll the residents of Monarch Park Avenue between Queensdale Avenue and
Springdale Avenue as to their support in connection with the implementation of alternate side
overnight permit parking.
Comments:
Implementation of alternate side overnight permit parking on Monarch Park Avenue between
Queensdale Avenue and Springdale Avenue.
The results of the poll are as follows:
Number of residents polled: 28
Number of responses: 14
Spoiled: 0
Number in favour: 12
Number opposed: 2
No opinion: 0
Comments returned with the poll have been provided to the Councillors representing East York,
Ward One.
Conclusions:
The East York Community Council is requested to consider the poll results and determine whether
or not to recommend the implementation of alternate side overnight permit parking on Monarch Park
Avenue between Queensdale Avenue and Springdale Avenue.
East York Community Council could either:
(a) (i) recommend to Council implementation of alternate side overnight permit parking on
Monarch Park Avenue between Queensdale Avenue and Springdale Avenue; and
(ii) that the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary
action to give effect to the foregoing; or
(b) receive this report for information.
