STAFF REPORT
March 1, 2000
To: North York community Council
From: Roberto Stopnicki, Director, Transportation Services, District 3
Subject:Proposed Parking Prohibitions: Blandorman Road
(North York Humber)
Purpose:
To amend the existing parking prohibitions/restrictions on the west side of Blandmorman Road, north of Rustic Road.
Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
All costs associated with the installation of parking restrictions are included in the Division's operating budget.
Recommendations:
It is recommended that Schedule VIII of By-law No. 31001, of the former City of North York, be amended to prohibit
parking on the west side of Blandorman Road, from the northerly limit of Rustic Road to a point 48.5 metres northerly
thereof.
Background:
The resident of 540 Rustic Road has requested the installation of parking restrictions so that unobstructed access would be
permitted for Wheel Trans vehicles when picking up/dropping off their disabled child. Currently, parking is permitted for
up to a maximum of three hours on Blandorman Road, north of Rustic Road.
Comments:
It has been brought to the Transportation Division's attention, by the residents of 540 Rustic Road, that when vehicles park
on the west side of Blandorman Road, north of Rustic Road, Wheel Trans vehicles have difficulty dropping off/picking up
their disabled child.
Conclusions:
This Division supports amending the parking regulations, as requested by the resident, as they would not impact available
on street parking and would provide the necessary protection for the special needs of the local resident.
