RE: Resource Implications for the Proposed Environmental Plan

Recommendation:

That the CAO in consultation with the Environmental Task Force report to the March 30^th meeting of the Policy and Finance Committee on the resource implications of the proposed Environmental Plan.

Background:

The Environmental Task Force released the Consultation Draft of the Environmental Plan on January 10^th, 2000. Throughout January and February the public will be providing feedback to the Environmental Task Force on the draft Environmental Plan. At the February 21^st Task Force meeting deputations will take heard from the public and final changes to the Plan will be made by the Task Force to the draft Plan.

The Plan will then be submitted to the Policy and Finance Committee for consideration at its March 30^th meeting.

To assist Councillors in understanding the resource implications of the Environmental Plan, the Environmental Task Force suggested at its December 20^th meeting that the CAO, in consultation with the Environmental Task Force, be asked to report to the March 30^th meeting of the Policy and Finance Committee on this matter.
