To authorize the alteration of Sheppard Avenue East between McCowan Road

and Markham Road by narrowing the pavement by the installation of a

pedestrian refuge island.

WHEREAS notice of a proposed By-law regarding the proposed alteration of Sheppard Avenue East was published in a daily newspaper on March 3, March 8, March 15 and March 22, 2000 and interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard at a public meeting held on March 23, 2000 and it is appropriate to permit the alteration.

The Council of the City of Toronto HEREBY ENACTS as follows:

The following alteration is authorized:

(1)The installation of a pedestrian refuge island on Sheppard Avenue East approximately 34 metres east of the driveway to 4725-4727 Sheppard Avenue East, between McCowan Road and Markham Road.
